I used to be an event planner before
becoming a momtrepreneur, so I LOVE helping people plan their special
occasions. Now that Valentine’s Day is approaching, I would suggest getting
your loved one the most delicious and romantic way to say I love you…Chocolate!!
Did you know that chocolate was
first made by the ancient civilizations of Central America? For centuries chocolate
has been a way for people to express romantic feelings for each other. Luscious
and decadent chocolate will elevate you and your partner’s mood thanks to its
“feel good effects,” and the altered levels of endorphins in your brain which
lower stress and lessen pain. Chocolate releases phenylethylamine, which is
also called “the love drug” because it causes your pulse rate to quicken,
resulting in the same feeling you get when you’re in love. Phenylethylamin is
abundant in chocolate and can increase audacity, attraction, excitement, and
giddiness. Who doesn’t love chocolate?!
In fact, researchers in Belgium conducted
a test in a bookstore where they released the scent of chocolate. What they
found was people’s browsing behaviors were affected. They started to look a lot
more in the “Romance” section of the bookstore.
A few chocolate-related gift ideas include
chocolate covered strawberries,
chocolate roses, edible chocolate creams, and more! Just check our gift
picks handpicked by our concierge.
So rent the movie Chocolat with
Juliette Binoche, dump the diet for a day, open that champagne bottle, and buy
some chocolate gifts from our partners
for your sweetheart.
