Tips for a Stress-Free Registry

When I got married, I was stressed out about money and how to make the most with the least for my wedding…..

A wedding planner was out of my budget and wedding registries then were a little confusing for me and my wedding guests. I ended up with a lot of things that I didn’t need and the worst part is that I got the same gifts twice!

So make it easy for you and create a stress free wedding registry that makes sense for you and your guests with these easy to follow tips:

-Define the Tone! Get a Checklist

You need to decide what you really need and what you don’t. Ask your partner! Some couples they already live together and they don’t need starter items like a blender….some other couples just need the cash…. So start by making a wedding registry checklist. There are many free templates online from the more simple to more elaborate.

-Create a Universal Registry

You don’t need a registry from every store because it is way too confusing for everybody. Create a Universal Registry with www.getmywish.com. You can download our ADD GIFTS BUTTON to your browser and add any gift from any store on the web in one registry. We also give back $1 dollar back for every gift bought in our website.

-Don’t Be Shy….

Add gifts from different price ranges, like small décor items or that really pricey couch you saw in your favorite furniture store…who knows? Some of your guests may get together and buy those big ticket items for you.

-If what you need is CASH….Think Gift Cards!

Be very diplomatic, Gift Cards are the best choice. Add some from your favorite stores and also some VISA or MasterCard Gift cards that can be used in any store.

-Check the Store’s Return Policies

This will help you to manage things easier after the wedding. Make sure you have enough time to return items you are not going to use.

-Always SAY THANK YOU!

Reply to guests who send their gifts before the wedding with a thank you note (within two weeks) and be sure to mention the gift by name. Notes for gifts received on or after the wedding day should be sent within a month (after your honeymoon!).
