“TIME” The Most Precious Commodity Nowadays!

Isn’t time the most precious commodity nowadays?

My husband, my sister, my friends, and the list goes on (including me!) are always saying, “I wish I had more time to do things!”… like being with my family, finishing a home project or taking a well-deserved vacation.

This is why Get My Wish is the perfect tool to save MONEY and TIME so you can devote all those “extra” precious hours to the things you love!

I want to share with you some easy tips to save time, money, and live happily:

- Ask your friends and family for a wish list for the most important events during the year like Birthdays, Christmas, Weddings, and any other special occasion.

- Always plan for the next day. The night before sit, take a deep breath, and write on paper or in your calendar what you need to do and decide how long it’s going to take you (be realistic).

- Declare “FAMILY TIME” at home. You might be the busiest person in the world but it’s important to spend time with the people that matter most. Family time could be a moment before dinner where you sit with your husband and catch up, dedicating more time to play with the kids, or even doing some DIY arts and crafts (Visit our “Every Day Activities” board on Pinterest where we’ve pinned lots of interesting and fun activities for kids).

- Always finish what you are doing before moving on. It’s hard to finish a task if you’re constantly getting up to do something else. This can be very hard for moms as most of us are pros at multitasking, but it can be done!

- Declutter!!! Believe me chaos and mess are not good for your life. Start getting rid of the things you don’t use and you will be happier! Have a place for everything. Buy containers for loose items and make sure you know where everything is (including receipts for purchases). Time is wasted every day because we are looking for something we cannot find. Involve the kids and reward them for their job with stickers (they’re a hit with my two girls). You can also place pictures in front of the containers to show your kids what goes in each box. Check out one of our amazing partners, ORGANIZE.COM to help you through the process.

- Sign up for automatic payments on the things you pay for every month so you don’t need to do it again and again. It will save you tons of time, and when bills are paid on time you save money!

Please let us know your feedback! If you have any more useful tips let us know, we value your opinion!

Love is in the Air…Spark Your Romance With Chocolate on Valentine’s Day!

I used to be an event planner before becoming a momtrepreneur, so I LOVE helping people plan their special occasions. Now that Valentine’s Day is approaching, I would suggest getting your loved one the most delicious and romantic way to say I love you…Chocolate!!

Did you know that chocolate was first made by the ancient civilizations of Central America? For centuries chocolate has been a way for people to express romantic feelings for each other. Luscious and decadent chocolate will elevate you and your partner’s mood thanks to its “feel good effects,” and the altered levels of endorphins in your brain which lower stress and lessen pain. Chocolate releases phenylethylamine, which is also called “the love drug” because it causes your pulse rate to quicken, resulting in the same feeling you get when you’re in love. Phenylethylamin is abundant in chocolate and can increase audacity, attraction, excitement, and giddiness. Who doesn’t love chocolate?!

In fact, researchers in Belgium conducted a test in a bookstore where they released the scent of chocolate. What they found was people’s browsing behaviors were affected. They started to look a lot more in the “Romance” section of the bookstore.

A few chocolate-related gift ideas include chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate roses, edible chocolate creams, and more! Just check our gift picks handpicked by our concierge.

So rent the movie Chocolat with Juliette Binoche, dump the diet for a day, open that champagne bottle, and buy some chocolate gifts from our partners for your sweetheart.

Gift Giving Tips to Make Your Experience a Breeze!

As the CEO of Get My Wish I have the best job in the world, pursuing my passion and helping people through their gift-giving crisis.

But I have to admit that the most demanding and rewarding job is being a “MOM.” I love to see the world through my little girl’s eyes and discover that there are no rules in their little world. Babies and kids act merely by instinct.

My eldest is almost four, and I recently asked her what she wanted for her upcoming birthday. She told me she just wanted, “A BIG GIFT!!!” Ha! That’s easy, right? Her wish list only had that one request A BIG GIFT!!! J (I guess kids associate big gifts with something special or out of the ordinary…)

So if you are like my daughter it should be an easy job, but for most people finding a gift can be stressful and time consuming. Here are some great tips to make it easy and stress free:

1.      Ask for a Wish List

If they don’t have a wish list ask them to make one for you and the other guests who will be attending the event. www.getmywish.com is the easiest way to make a cute personalized wish list for any occasion, and get to know your friends’ and family’s wishes and interests. It’s also easy to share your wish lists online using your favorite social media networks.

2.      Ask Other People What Their Interests Are

If a wish list is not available then I’d suggest gifts that are related to their hobbies and interests. Facebook can be a great way to find out more, without revealing that you’re trying to find the perfect gift.

3.      Stick to Your Budget

There is nothing more stressful than over spending! Check for coupons online or simply buy the generic version of the same item, not the name brand (but do your research!).

4.      Buy the Gift When You See It

If you see something that you think they will love, BUY IT RIGHT AWAY! It may not be available next time you look for it. Just make sure it can be returned in case you need to take it back.

5.      Start a Gift Ideas Closet

It is helpful to have your own closet of gift ideas for last minute gifting. You can also go to our PARTNERS to check out ideas or shoot us an email. We can help you find any gift easily and within your budget. Just ask our Gift Concierge!

Grant Your Kids’ Wishes Like A Genie with Get My Wish

Occasions such as birthdays, weddings, Christmas day, and baby showers are just among the many special occasions that are celebrated together by most families with a lot of effort and preparation. Most of the time, families celebrate these special events by giving presents to each other or to the people who are being celebrated. This tradition of gift-giving is a good way to maintain and strengthen bonds and to express appreciation of the occasion and of each family member with each other.

Get My Wish is a new website that internet users will surely find useful and interesting. It is a website dedicated to helping make gift-giving convenient for users who often find themselves in the midst of gift-giving dilemmas. The main feature of Get My Wish is that it allows its users to share their personalized wish list to their family, friends, and acquaintances so that people would know what to get as gifts for them on special occasions. The website’s users can also send their friends a request, so that they could also, in turn, ask what their friends want to get.

This website can be especially useful for mothers who want to be sure that they give their kids and husband the perfect gift for them. Sometimes thinking of the perfect present can be stressful, especially if the person that you are giving a gift to is someone that you value and love so much. For mothers, getting the right gift for her family is really crucial.

Children have different preferences and interests. Teenagers, for example, with their varying interests and easily changing trends, are sometimes hard to keep up with. Get My Wish can help mothers know more about their children’s likes, dislikes, the things that they really need, and the things that are only going to end up stashed away in drawers. It is important for mothers to be able to give something that is really going to be used and appreciated by their children, because in this way, mothers can really show that they care and value their kids.

To celebrate relationships and the effect that gift-giving can offer to them is the main goal of Get My Wish. The website wants people to experience more ease when it comes to this somehow stressful but meaningful tradition. To make things really easier for its users, the website also has a “Gift Ideas” section, which has a list of suggested gift items. The purchase of these gift items will help charities and organizations supported by the website.

Hassle-Free Gift-Giving Made Easy for Everyone

Get My Wish is a useful and innovative website dedicated to helping make gift-giving a lot easier for people who often find themselves tangled up in a gift-giving dilemma. The best thing about Get My Wish is that it allows its users to send and share their personalized wish list to their family, friends, and acquaintances so that people would know what to get as gifts for them on special occasions such as birthday, Christmas, baby shower, wedding, and all kinds of special events that call for a celebration. The website also allows its users to send their friends a request, so that they could also know what their friends want to receive.

There are many things that must be considered upon thinking about the presents to give to other people. To find the perfect gift, one must consider the occasion, budget, and most especially, the preference of the person that will be receiving the gift.  Knowing and abiding to conventions in gift-giving for different occasions is easier than finding the one perfect gift that is really desired and is actually useful. For instance, when looking for a gift, one knows that birthdays must be about the celebrant while baby shower gifts are for the baby. The gift-giving on Christmas day has become a tradition that is being looked forward to by most children. Knowing these conventional standards in gift-giving should make it not a hard task. However, it is a lot more complicated than it seems.

The complicated part in gift-giving is that it is not always easy to guess what a person really wants and needs. Many gifts end up kept on boxes and not used at all because the recipient of the gift does not have any use or interest in the item. To avoid wasting the value of gift-giving, Get My Wish makes the activity a lot more interesting, easy, and something that will get people to know more about other people’s personal interests and preferences.

To celebrate relationships and the effect that giving presents can offer to the growth of the relationship is the primary goal of Get My Wish. The website wants people to experience convenience when it comes to this meaningful tradition. To make things really easier for its users, the website also has a “Gift Ideas” section, which includes a list of suggested gift items. Purchasing these gift items will help to the charities and organizations supported by the website.
